Equine Massage

Equine massage therapy utilizes Swedish Massage techniques such as effleurage, petrissage, tapotements, vibrations, shakings and strokings. These manipulations can be used as part of an ongoing health maintenance plan, to aid in the rehabilitation process, dissipate swelling and provide a general sense of well-being for the horse.

The designation Registered Equine Massage Therapist (REMT) is a title legally protected by the IFREMT, and may only be used by those individuals that have met the established standards of qualification and successfully completed the accreditation process. Entrance exams to become registered with the IFREMT include both a written component, and a practical component that is overseen by a supervising veterinarian
